Journals
The term 'journals' refers to material that is published in separate parts and at regular intervals. Other terms used to describe this material are periodicals, magazines or serials. Journals are important sources of information for subject research. Frequency of publication varies from weekly to annually. Journals may be available in print (hard copy) and/or electronic format.
Print (hard copy) journals
The Drill Hall Library currently subscribes to over 250 journal titles that are received on a regular basis, i.e. weekly, monthly or quarterly.

Journals cannot be borrowed from the Drill Hall Library, but information can be obtained and photocopied, subject to copyright law. Please see the copyright signs available at each photocopier.
To look for a journal in the Drill Hall Library, search our library catalogue
Use the More Search Options and select Journal, Magazine, Newspaper from the "Format" menu.
The search results will allow to refine the results by Library Location to the Medway Campus.
Electronic databases and electronic journals
Via your home institution's web pages you have access to a range of electronic journals and electronic databases. The former are electronic versions of paper journals, providing the full text of articles. The databases provide tools for searching multiple resources (mainly journal articles, but including conference papers, newspapers and reports). Some of these databases are specialised while others cover a wide variety of subjects. Many provide full text while some provide only a reference, and/or a short resume of the original document.
