Clinical staff from NHS trusts
Free membership, including restricted borrowing rights and PC access, is available to clinical staff from NHS trusts that have placement agreements with the Universities at Medway (UaM) partner institutions.

NHS Trusts outside this area will be considered on an individual basis.
To register with us you will need to bring with you:
- your NHS Trust staff identification card;
- a letter from your manager on Trust headed notepaper confirming employment;
- proof of your home address, eg driving licence, utility bill; and
- a passport-sized photograph.
We will ask you to complete a registration form and sign to confirm acceptance of the Drill Hall Library's (the Drill Hall) rules before issuing you a library membership card and user information. Please note that registration is only available between 9am and 8.30pm, Monday to Thursday, 9am and 5.30pm Friday, and 11am and 4.30pm at the weekend. Please check our opening hours before you visit.
You will need to bring your UaM library card with you on every visit and sign in at reception.
Membership is valid for one year.
What we can offer you

- Reference access to over 90,000 academic texts and journals.
- Use of 250 study spaces.
- Use of photocopying facilities, binding machines and DVD playback equipment.
- Access to daily newspapers.
- A personal IT account.
- Use of five public access PCs with Microsoft Office and internet access.
- A personal library account.
- Entitlement to borrow up to five ordinary loan items from the Drill Hall's stock at any one time.
To avoid any misunderstanding please note that 7-day loan items are only available for reference. Study loans, overnight loans, inter-site loans (items showing a location of Avery Hill or Maritime Greenwich), inter-library loans, theses/dissertations and reservations are excluded from the scheme.
Additionally, due to educational licence agreements, electronic databases, electronic books and journals and specialist software are not available to visitors or external users.
